The Story

Adopt a bat today, and you could provide for one week of care for a bat at Wild ARC. Your gift comes with an 8-inch stuffed bat toy, and an e-card to send to a special animal lover.

You won't fear the dark when this adorable brown bat is with you. This little brown bat stuffed animal is covered in thick, soft brown fur, with his wings outstretched for a hug. From his big round ears to his soft little feet, this 8-inch stuffed bat is full of nighttime fun!

There are 10 species of bats on Vancouver Island, and those most commonly admitted at Wild ARC include Little Brown, Big Brown, Silver-haired, and California Bats. They most often end up at Wild ARC in the winter if their hibernation is disturbed by construction or other human interference.

Bats help maintain healthy ecosystems by regulating insect populations with their incredible bug-snacking skills - but sadly, bats are in trouble. They are among the most endangered animals in the world, facing threats from habitat loss, pesticides, diseases, climate change and outright persecution.

All funds raised will protect vulnerable animals, and mobilize communities so animals and people can thrive together, by helping where the need is greatest.
